Northwest Edmonton Real Estate:
Community of North Glenora

North Glenora in Northwest Edmonton is located within its boundaries of 107 Avenue, 111 Avenue, 142 Street, and Groat Road. With a history dating back to the 19th century, North Glenora was originally part of River Lot 2, a vast estate owned by Malcolm Groat in 1870. While other west end communities, such as Groat Estate, Westmount, and Glenora, were flourishing by the early 1900s, North Glenora remained undeveloped until after World War II. Development in North Glenora didn’t begin until the 1940s when city planner Noel Dant introduced a new street pattern design with crescents and cul-de-sacs to minimize through traffic and enhance residential living. Despite its slow start, North Glenora is now characterized by single-detached homes, close proximity to amenities and a great location.
