With roots dating back to the city's early beginnings in the early 1900s, Central McDougall is an older Central Edmonton community that offers a mix of housing options to suit various lifestyles. The Hudson's Bay Company put up several land holdings for sale in Central McDougall during Edmonton's real estate boom of 1912. However, the community's development was slow after the boom's collapse, with most of the area nearly complete by the early 1950s.
